Well, hi, everyone. This Is Tonia with Inance Skincare. And today we're going to be talking about how to age gracefully. I think I am a good mentor for this. I think I'm a great example of this, and I'm going to tell you why coming up. But before we get started, please make sure you like and subscribe to my channel, so we can always stay connected. And this way, I can give you all the amazing skincare deals and specials because I would make sure all my friends are saving money.
So today we're going to talk about aging gracefully. Do we know what that means? Do you guys have a good perception on what it means? Well, I'm going to give you the exact terminology of what it means. It isn't about just trying to look younger. It's about living your best life and having the physical and mental health to enjoy it.
You can even get better with age with the right care. And boy, is that true? So I'm going to give you a little bit of my experience with my age, what I do, and how I age gracefully. So I'm 49 years old. I'm going to be 50 this year. I can't believe it. Any of you other ladies out there, or men, if you are 49, and you can't believe you're going to be 50, as well, it's huge, right? You're like, "Whoa, I can't believe I'm going to actually be 50 years old," but it's such a gift, right? Thank the Lord we're still here. That's the way I look at it. Some people weren't lucky enough to hit the age 50. So here are my top tips to age gracefully.
Number one, it all comes from here. It comes from your brain and your mindset. You don't want to be dreading, thinking, "Oh my gosh, I'm getting older." Everyone's getting older. It's what you do with your time that matters and how you feel and how you feel about yourself. If you're looking at everything optimistic and say, "Oh gosh, I'm young. I'm vibrant. I can still do this. I could still do that." Or if you're saying, "Oh, I can't do that. I'm old." Or, "People my age aren't supposed to do that." That's the number one problem is your mindset, so make your mindset positive, and you can accomplish anything.
The second thing I do to age gracefully is my diet and how I eat. I drink so much water every day, lemon water. I work out. I do as much physical activity as I can. I do walks. That's the most important thing. And what's so important is to make sure whatever exercise you currently are doing, that you continue to do that same exercise. You don't want to keep going down because you're getting older. You don't want to maybe do less. So what I mean by continuing to still exercise, maybe there's something that hurts a certain part of your body, so you don't want to do that particular exercise, but you want to make sure you find another exercise, then, that replaces that. For example, I used to do squats in my twenties with the bar and 25 pounds on each side, the bar was 45 pounds, to keep the butt nice and round and all of that.
Well, as you get older, you can put a lot of stress on the bottom of your back. Those aren't things that you want to do. So what I do now is I will do my work, my squats, with no weights. I just do squats daily. I will do them sometimes throughout the house several times a day because it's something that doesn't put pressure on my joints, and I'm still working out and still doing the movement that keeps everything nice and firm. Another important thing that I would call number three is movement. And although that goes with exercise, you want to make sure that you're moving. A lot of us are sitting so many times on our computers. We need to get up and move, take a break, take a walk, do whatever you need to do, because that gets the blood flowing. That right there is one of the biggest benefits to age gracefully and to feel good within. It increases the serotonin. Get moving.
It's only wrong if it's too hard for you to live up to those expectations. I myself, I'm going to be 50. I like being 50. I don't mind if I have a little bit of smile lines. I don't mind if I look a little bit older because I am. I enjoy it. I'm really happy with how I look, and that's what makes the difference. You need to find happiness within yourself. And a lot of times that glows out, and that totally overshadows if you have fine lines or wrinkles or whatever it is.
And not that there's wrong with getting any of that fixed. You can do that. I myself am not at that point yet. Maybe in my fifties, I'll change my mind. Maybe you guys will see me on here saying, "Look, I decided to get an eye lift or decided to do a laser treatment or whatever," because I haven't done any of those because the skincare that I use and the lifestyle that I lead, I don't think I've needed to do any of that yet.
So I hope you enjoyed this video. Please let me know below in the comments, what you do to age gracefully, how you feel about it. If you're one of those people that disagrees and says, "Oh no, Tonia, I'm going to look 20 forever," well, that's great. My hat's off to you. I, myself personally, to get any plastic surgery done or any of that at this stage of my life on my face, I'm not there. It's not going to make me any happier. It's not something that I want to do. The skincare that I'm using is doing everything that I want to do. And I come in contact with so many different brands. If I feel like I need a microdermabrasion peel, which I've never gotten, I use certain exfoliators and things like that that do the same trick.
